I always abide by my 2 rules of travel.
1 – Carry-on luggage only so I can leave the airport quickly after landing.
2 – Sit as close to the front as possible so I can be among the first off the plane.
I have been perfecting this strategy for years and it makes every trip smoother, especially when traveling for a week to 10 days.
I even packed the same way for a 3-week trip to India, with just one wash in the middle.
Here is what I fit in my carry-on for a 10-day trip:
2 Iconic jeans (One Pinstripe, one solid)
2 novelty pants
5 tops that mix and match with all 4 bottoms
I always bring versatile black and white pieces that can be dressed up or down, and favor crinkle or jersey knits that don’t need steaming. I roll everything tightly and carry a big duffle bag for all the gifts I buy for my family and friends.
This way, I know I will get to my sister’s house just in time for dinner.
Bonus Tip: Get Global Entry if traveling internationally. Being first out of the airport is the best feeling ever.
